So, updates…
We didn’t make it to the finals of the First Tracks Competition. I’m not all that sad about it, honestly. I have voiced all along issues I’ve had with the competition and getting a record deal isn’t really on my things to do…so eh…All the same though, the support was fantastic and we came really close so thanks!
There are some changes going on with Danger Room Productions, the company I helped start to promote coffeehouse artists to colleges. I made a newsletter for the artists that we work with: Christopher James and Nicole Berke and have copied and pasted it below so you guys can see what the dealie-yo is. Check it out!

Consider this a DRP ‘newsletter’. I wanted to update everyone as to our goings-on.
FIRST of all, I wanted to welcome Gary Burns to the team. Gary will be chiefly handling booking for me and coordinating booking with James and Tara as well as advancing of shows, which will be great. Gary has experience working with fantastic acts like Zox, Pete Kilpatrick and Pete Francis. This will help relieve some of the pressure from James and Tara and also supply them with another point person to contact. Someone with a lot of experience.
We’ve also done some restructuring with our artist list. I’ve decided to take Christopher James off of our active roster list. When trying to book him alongside Nicole and myself, his press materials didn’t hold up. We’re going to work with him in more of an artist development role and try to get all his press materials and career goals lined up. I’m still going to give him access to our databases in case he feels inclined to try booking himself but as of now, we won’t be actively booking him. We’re still going to be doing tons of work with him though!
What this means in the power ladder is that Tara and James will be splitting up Nicole’s booking. This will allow for more personalized attention for the artists, which will hopefully result in more bookings. Hurrah!
A couple other things going on: I have an interview on Friday with potentially another student who may work with us starting immediately until the end of June. We’ll see about that. Also, I’m meeting with Will Dailey on Thursday to talk about perhaps doing some promotion for him but that’s all to fresh to talk about.
The last thing is Our Stage! Things are heating up but we’re still doing well! After a lot of stability, the rankings have been shaken up quite a bit. As it stands, Nicole and I have 1 song in the Top 20 of the Newport Folk Festival channel and Chris and I both have 1 song in the Top 20 of the Radio 92.9 Earthfest channel. If we can remain in the Top 20 as of April 24th, then we’ll be locked in and move on! So, continue to tell your friends to support Danger Room Productions artists and to vote against people higher in the rankings.
We’re also working on a nifty new website. We’re really turning a corner right now and I think it’s going to benefit everyone! Keep up the good work guys and keep making great music Chris and Nicole and things’ll start paying off soon.
Let me know if you guys have ANY questions!
