Announcing The Album Sponsorship Program
Today, I’m launching a program to try and raise money for our 1st full length album, which will start recording in late-August. I battled for a long time as to whether or not I should try this approach for fundraising but in the end, I do find it to be a worthy endeavor. At first it seemed close to begging for money but I’ve been able to rationalize that by looking at the changing music industry and realizing that this is a very personalized way to deal with fans and supporters:
“You all want to hear a new record? Then come help us out!”
I’ve been fortunate that I’m not the first one to try this out so I’ve been able to see other artists’ models and see if they have been successful and also how they were received. I have modest goals for this project–I don’t expect to pay for the whole recording–but I hope people become emotionally (as well as financially) vested in the success of this project.
I plan to keep everyone well abreast of studio updates in return for their sponsorship. Many people are interested in the recording process and I’m willing to share as much as people want to hear and it’ll help my desire to record as much of my development of an artist as possible.
So, with all that being said, head over to the sponsorship page and check it out. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask. I will be making changes to the parameters of the project as I work out the bugs but that is essentially how it’s going to work. Any other ideas for prizes for the different levels of sponsorship is greatly appreciated.
Thanks for your eyes and hopefully you can help us out!
