Geek Boy.
This post has nothing to do with music. I’ve been eagerly awaiting the new Batman movie The Dark Knight immediately upon seeing Batman Begins. I’ve never geeked out so much over something before and the original plan was to see it in IMAX but because opening weekend is roundly sold out in IMAX, I saw it the ‘regular way’ today. Surprisingly, the theater was half-empty but I guess not everyone is self-employed and can go see a movie at noon on a Friday.
Anyhow, the movie was as stunning as I would have hoped it to be. Admittedly, I wasn’t a big comic book guy as a kid. I had some comics and I was a fan of the X-Men animated series and the movies as well but living with Scott (of Cahill), there were always ample opportunities to read comics because he had about 20 of them in our bathroom at all times…Anyways, I’m digressing…
The movie was awesome, a touch too long, and incredibly intense. Great performances all around and they didn’t make it a Heath Ledger homage, like I thought they would, but he was there when he should be and was awesome during those times. He was every bit as good as everyone said he would be. Here’s to Batman 3! (Hopefully I don’t have to wait another 3 years for it)
not since anthony hopkins in silence of the lambs has such an evil character been portrayed so brilliantly on screen…breathtaking!!
i have not yet seen this gem, but it’ll be soon since i’m a certified comic-book fanboy. It looks truly amazing from the clips i’ve seen.
