2nd Place is the FIRST Loser.
I read that on the back of a t-shirt when I was younger and I used it facetiously as the subject for this blog. So, we lost on OurStage last night, making a mad dash towards the end (thanks to all the last minute voters out there!), finishing in 2nd place, which is fantastic. Thanks to everyone! We won’t win the 5k but we still have a chance to open for Matt Nathanson, which was truly the grand prize for me! We’ll see. We’ll see. I worked hard on Our Stage this month promoting and I made a lot of musical friends and fans, so that in itself, was worth it to me.
In other news, I went over my producer’s house today and we finished up acoustic guitars and scratch vocals on everything except for guitars on “Sisters” and guitar and vocals on the last track to make the cut for the record, which is now untitled. More on that information later. I won’t be recording for a couple weeks as we pass the tracks off to our all-purpose keyboard player.
I’m also happy to announce that I’ll be playing on Friday November 21st at Johnny D’s in Somerville, with the great Chad Perrone. We share a band so our back line should be a piece of cake! More information on that later.
Thanks everyone for the support this month. The album is kicking and I’m sure we’ll be taking over Our Stage when it’s finally done.
Great!
