I was blown away after reading this article on the New York Times website that talked about Apple’s recent acquisition of Lala, a Palo Alto based music start-up. I hadn’t thought much about what the landscape of the music industry will be like post-downloading but the idea of having all music hosted on the Web or from the “cloud” is fascinating. That way you don’t have to worry about losing your music to a hard drive crash and it would reduce the amount of memory that computers would need to have as well as once again potentially change copying of music as well. I don’t know much about the cloud but I’m going to go learn more about it. Music industry fodder for the day.
