I’ve been awful about posting since I’ve gotten here, especially with all that has happened and all the flux that we’ve had to deal with. I am, however, in great spirits and have had all of my expectations met with the move. I will try and get some news through but I’ll limit my post to 500 words because I have a tendency to ramble and am a slave to structure.
1. Part of our ceiling collapsed last night. Luckily, I don’t have to write about it because Marie all ready did.
2. I think the most satisfying change with the move, besides the weather, is the food. For the first two weeks we were here, we ate out the majority of the time and now that we’ve been able to have home cooked meals, we’ve been approaching cooking with much more enthusiasm than usual. It helps that the produce has been outstanding and we’ve been able to eat fresh, nutritious, and inexpensive. Being a vegetarian has been a piece of cake out here, though it’d be tough to make the vegan jump because of all the feta and parmesan we’ve been eating. I’m rambled.
3. When searching for apartments and becoming accustomed to the Bay Area, I became enamored with Google Maps. It is awesome for so many more reasons than just its maps and ease of use. If you feel even half as grateful as I do that Google Maps exists, you will check out this blog.
4. I’m sad that I didn’t write more about President Obama’s meeting with the GOP last week. See it all here. It was inspirational and after a few weeks of political disheartenment, I felt an immense sense of pride and dare I say hope about the people trying to fix the country. It renews my desire to help along a change, I just don’t know how I’m going to do so yet.
5. I have a few music developments. I’m playing at Wheaton College on February 23rd, which is great. I think it’s my favorite college to play at because despite the fact that the crowds are never huge, there is always a good feel in the room and the people who work there are very nice. I also had another one of my songs “Tell My Story” on the Kardashians this week, which was a pleasant surprise. I’m also getting a footing out here with some gigs, mostly farmers markets, which is a potentially consistent workload for low-key musicians, and street performing.
6. Overall, things are pretty good. I feel healthy, and deliberate in my actions and though I don’t have a defined goal that I’m working to right now (I’m just trying to stay afloat), I feel pretty secure that my direction is true. I’m going to try and meet some interesting people over the next couple week and I’ve been looking at part-time jobs and jobs with non-profits as a potential way to wrap my head around something else. You are all welcome to visit.

Thanks for the updates my friend! I wanted to leave a comment on Marie’s page, but I had to sign in or something (like I have time for that). Let her know that her story on the Book Nook was wonderful and that although I’m sorry it happened, I’m glad I got to read about it.
